eSIM, SIM and Wi-Fi· 7 guides
Should I get an eSIM, physical SIM or pocket Wi-Fi?

Start with what your unlocked phone supports. Compare an eSIM or physical SIM for your phone, or pocket Wi-Fi for shared data; check calls and texts separately.

Steps, cautions and sources →
When should I install my eSIM, how do I turn it on in Korea, and what if it doesn't work?

An eSIM is a digital SIM built into your phone. Install it with the QR code, then switch your data to that line when you arrive in Korea. When the days start counting depends on the seller, so read the terms first. Don't delete an installed eSIM — you may not be able to get it again.

Steps, cautions and sources →
How should I prepare SIM, power and communication options for the trip?

You can buy a physical SIM at an airport or selected shops, or order an eSIM online for a compatible phone. Check whether the product supplies only data or also the Korean voice/SMS service you need.

Steps, cautions and sources →
What documents do I need to buy and activate a Korean SIM?

Tourist SIM paperwork depends on the product: data-only delivery and Korean voice-number activation can require different checks. Buy in the traveller’s own identity and follow the actual seller’s passport/entry-verification instructions.

Steps, cautions and sources →
Can I share my Korean SIM data through a hotspot?

Yes, some tourist products explicitly allow hotspot sharing, but “unlimited data” does not automatically mean unlimited tethering. Choose the exact plan by its sharing allowance.

Steps, cautions and sources →
How do I book or cancel a pocket Wi-Fi rental?

Use the rental seller’s booking and cancellation flow and save the completion email. Cancellation deadlines differ by seller: for example, GLOBAL WiFi states cancellation is free until 23:59 four days before departure.

Steps, cautions and sources →
Where can I use free Wi-Fi in Korea?

Free public Wi-Fi is available in public places such as airports, subway and train stations, some bus stops and buses. Choose “Public WiFi Free” in your Wi-Fi list, then tap the button to use it on the connection page.
