Official Seoul Trail rating: level 3 of 3 (hardest)

Good to know

  • Stamp boxes: Jeungsan Sports Park and the Aengbongsan entrance. They are outdoors and the ink can dry out, so bring your own ink pad (official advice).
  • As a hard route it includes mountain paths. Wear shoes with good grip and carry water (KoreaClear advice).
  • Bongsan (209 m) is named for the beacon station on its summit; two beacon towers were rebuilt in their original form in 2011 (official information).
  • Bongsan has a stand of Korean mountain ash covering about 5,000 m², rare in Seoul. Aengbongsan (235 m) is named for the orioles that live there (official information).
