Can I reuse K-ETA, and is it worth applying if I am exempt?

Short answer

You can reuse a valid K-ETA for multiple eligible visits, including a third trip, while its conditions and passport details remain valid. An exempt visa-free traveller may apply voluntarily to avoid arrival-card submission, but the fee still applies. Holding K-ETA does not remove the declaration requirement when entering with a visa.

What to do
  1. Check the approval record and expiry before each trip.
  2. Apply again if your passport is reissued or your criminal-record or infectious-disease information changes. For other changes, follow the current application guide and update required travel information through the portal.
  3. If exempt and making one visit, compare the optional paid application with completing the free arrival card.
Check before relying on this
  • K-ETA validity does not extend the permitted stay on an individual visit.
  • Approval does not guarantee admission or authorise work.

More detail

Current K-ETA guidance gives three years or the passport expiry date, whichever comes first. Check the actual approval rather than calculating validity from an old blog post.
