How do I fill in Korea's e-Arrival Card, and how do I fix a mistake?
Short answer
Fill it in free on the official site e-arrivalcard.go.kr from 3 days before you arrive (Korean time). You can change it before immigration with your issue number or email. If you didn't do it in advance, you can still fill it in at the airport before immigration.
What to do
- Check whether you need it with the Navigator on e-arrivalcard.go.kr. With a valid K-ETA, a Korean residence card or Korean nationality you don't; if you enter with a visa, you do.
- Have ready: a valid passport, an email address, your arrival date and flight number, and where you'll stay. The departure date can be approximate and the departure flight number is optional.
- On e-arrivalcard.go.kr (there is no app): agree to the terms, scan or type your passport, enter your trip details, check them and submit.
- Save the PDF or the email with your issue number. You don't have to show it, but the immigration officer may ask for it.
- To change something, use “Check/Edit” with your issue number or email verification before immigration. The arrival date can only be changed within 3 days of your first submission.
If that doesn't work
- Didn't submit before you flew? Fill it in online or on a paper card at the airport before immigration.
- Lost your issue number? If your details were correct, you don't need to submit again; the officer can look them up.
Check before relying on this
- The official service is free. Use e-arrivalcard.go.kr.
- It is valid for 72 hours after you submit and for one entry only. If your arrival moves later than that, submit again.
- It is not a customs or quarantine declaration, and it does not register you for the automatic immigration gates.

Families and groups
On a phone, one person can submit for up to 9 people; on a PC, up to 1,000. Someone aged 14 or younger can't be the person submitting. A parent may fill in a child's card; check the details carefully. Everyone's issue numbers are sent to the lead person's email.
Tricky fields
Changing planes without entering Korea: you don't need it. If you must pass immigration, for example to collect bags, the official FAQ tells you to enter the airport's address as your place of stay. Staying in more than one place: enter the main one, or the first. Passport shows an unknown day or month of birth: scan the passport; if typing, use 00 for the unknown part.
e-Arrival Card and K-ETA
They are separate systems. With a valid K-ETA you don't submit the e-Arrival Card; keep your K-ETA details up to date on the K-ETA website instead. Giving false information can lead to penalties or entry refusal.
