Where do I get a WOWPASS, how do I top it up, and what if I lose it?

Short answer

WOWPASS is a prepaid card for foreign visitors. Get it with your passport at about 446 self-service machines nationwide, including airports, hotels and subway stations. The payment balance and the transit (T-money) balance are topped up separately. If you lose it, suspend it in the app straight away.

What to do
  1. Find a WOWPASS machine (airport, hotel, convenience store or subway station) and have your passport ready.
  2. Scan your passport at the machine to get the card; register it in the app with your passport.
  3. Top up the payment balance with cash or a card at a machine, or with an overseas card in the app.
  4. Top up the T-money transit balance separately with Korean won cash at a station or convenience store, or convert balance in the app.

If that doesn't work

  • Card lost? Suspend it in the WOWPASS app first, then reissue.
  • Machine won't take your currency? Try a credit card, or top up in the app.
Check before relying on this
  • Only one card per passport; Korean passports cannot be used.
  • The T-money balance cannot be recovered if you lose the card.
  • Cash withdrawals: up to KRW 100,000 per transaction, KRW 1,000 fee each time.
