How can I check whether my medication is available in Korea?

Short answer

Check availability by active ingredient, strength and formulation, then arrange a Korean clinical consultation if a prescription is needed. A familiar foreign brand may not be marketed under the same name, and product approval does not prove local stock.

What to do
  1. Prepare the generic ingredient, dose, formulation, existing prescription and treatment summary.
  2. Send them to a hospital international-patient centre or ask a Korean pharmacist which local prescribing route applies.
  3. Confirm stock, cost and follow-up before relying on obtaining the medicine after arrival.
Check before relying on this
  • Do not substitute a medicine or change dose without a clinician.
  • If bringing your own supply, check MFDS import rules separately, especially for controlled ingredients.
