How should I prepare for Korean summer heat if I have dysautonomia?
Short answer
Plan around cooling and recovery time, and agree a personal heat plan with the clinician managing your dysautonomia before travelling. Air-conditioned accommodation, short outdoor periods and flexible transport are more useful than a packed midday itinerary.
What to do
- Schedule outdoor visits in cooler hours with frequent indoor breaks.
- Carry water and follow your own fluid/salt guidance, including any restrictions.
- Discuss heat-sensitive medicines and warning symptoms with your clinician; stop activity and seek help if symptoms are severe or unusual.
Check before relying on this
- Do not change salt intake, fluid targets or medication based on a generic travel tip.
- Heat-related faintness should not automatically be attributed to your usual condition.

More detail
CDC advises shade, breaks, cooling and a clinician-developed heat plan for chronic conditions. This is general heat preparation, not a dysautonomia treatment protocol.
