Do I need a visa to visit Korea with my passport?

Short answer

Your passport nationality, passport type, purpose and length of stay determine whether you need a Korean visa. Check the official K-ETA eligibility guidance and your responsible Korean mission; K-ETA and an arrival declaration do not replace a visa when one is required.

What to do
  1. Use the official Visa Navigator or your Korean mission with nationality, passport type, dates and purpose.
  2. If visa-free, check whether K-ETA is required or exempt for your arrival date, then complete any required arrival declaration.
  3. If relying on Jeju or tourist-in-transit entry, check every condition of that separate programme.
Check before relying on this
  • K-ETA is for eligible visa-free travel; it does not create a visa exemption.
  • Do not assume you can obtain a tourist visa on arrival. Establish the applicable entry route before travelling.

Information needed for an answer

Provide your nationality, ordinary or special passport type, travel purpose, dates and intended length of stay. If relying on transit or Jeju entry, include every flight and stop: those are separate conditional routes. A previous traveller’s answer cannot determine your eligibility.
