Can I bring a large suitcase on KTX or a bus?
Short answer
On KTX, use the luggage storage area and keep aisles and doors clear. For buses, check the operator’s baggage arrangements before boarding.
Storage space is not guaranteed, and city-bus rules may differ from airport or intercity buses.
Practical next steps
- Identify whether you are taking KTX, a city bus, an airport bus or an intercity bus. Have your bag’s dimensions ready when asking the operator.
- If the operator cannot confirm suitable storage, consider another service or storing the bag first. Keep aisles and exits clear; do not apply one service’s rules to another.

What to do
- Carry your bags onto and off the train yourself. On KTX, use the luggage rack or ask train staff where your suitcase can be stored.
- Keep valuables with you and leave aisles, doors and other passengers’ seats clear.
- For city, airport or intercity buses, check the specific operator’s storage arrangements before boarding.
If that doesn't work
- If the luggage space is full, ask train staff where your bag can go.
- If your suitcase will not fit the bus you planned, use a luggage storage or delivery service and travel lighter.
Check before relying on this
- Bus rules vary by service and operator; train storage arrangements do not apply automatically to buses.
