What is the KORAIL PASS and how do I use it?
Short answer
The KORAIL PASS is a train pass for foreign visitors. You choose 2, 3, 4 or 5 travel days within 10 days of the start date. Buy it on KORAIL’s English website with your passport and a credit card, then reserve seats under “MY TICKET”. Adult prices are ₩131,000 (2 days) to ₩275,000 (5 days).
What to do
- On korail.com (English), open KORAIL PASS → Book Korail Pass. Choose the pass (2, 3, 4 or 5 days), passenger type and start date. You need a valid passport and a credit card, and all details must match your passport exactly.
- Reserve seats under MY TICKET → SEAT RESERVATION. Seats open two months before departure, and you can reserve up to two tickets a day. Choose your travel dates within 10 days of the pass start date.
- Board with your valid pass, your passport and, if you reserved one, your seat ticket. The pass screen on the mobile website counts as valid; a screenshot of a ticket does not.
- If seats are sold out, you can board without a seat (standing) with a valid pass and passport.
